Visual arts production center

Hangar

Biography:

HANGAR is a center for artistic research and production, founded in 1997 by the Association of Visual Artists of Catalonia, in Can Ricart, a refurbished industrial building in Barcelona's Poblenou district. Its objective is to provide support to creators and artists and offer services that adapt to the production needs that arise in the art world. Included in its program of continuous education and specific workshops are some subjects traditionally excluded from artistic training, such as the economic management of its projects, the use of new technologies for the dissemination of their works, and even basic knowledge of electronics, robotics, and other scientific disciplines. HANGAR also hosts 15 resident artists in its workshops and promotes exchanges with visual artists and renowned art professionals who visit Barcelona.
