Wendy Kopp and Carl J. Schramm, global references at IMPULSA 2011

The 2011 IMPULSA Forum will include the participation of 23 speakers from different countries, among them Wendy Kopp, founder of Teach For America and one of the 100 most influential people by TIME Magazine, and Carl J. Schramm, president and CEO of The Kaufmann Foundation, the international benchmark private institution dedicated to entrepreneurial innovation and economic growth.

Wendy Kopp is the co-founder and CEO of Teach For America and of Teach For All, a global network present in 18 countries that seeks to provide the children of disadvantaged areas with access to the best teachers as a way of putting an end to the vicious circle of poverty. It enlists the involvement of parents, educators and social entrepreneurs to achieve this goal. Wendy Kopp was named one of the world's 100 Most Influential People by Time magazine in 2010.


Carl J.Schramm is the president and CEO of The Kauffman Foundation,the private institution of international prestige devoted to entrepreneurial innovation and economic growth. He is also a founding member of Startup America Partnership, an initiative promoted by the U.S. government, and he has been on the Department of Commerce's innovation committees under both the Bush and the Obama administrations. Likewise, he has stood out as a promoter of new opportunities for rebuilding the economy of countries that emerge from a conflict. The founder of several companies, he is also a prolific writer. His latest book, Good Capitalism, Bad Capitalism, is considered an international classic on economic growth.


Magnus Örn Scheving, another Global Reference at IMPULSA 2011, is an athlete, entrepreneur, writer and television producer. His love of sports and his eagerness to share the values of healthy living among young people led him to create the television series Lazy Town, in which he also plays the leading role as Sportacus. This series, which can be seen on TV at this time in more than 100 countries, has received numerous international television prizes. Magnus Scheving is one of the promoters of the Let's Move campaign, which has been launched in the U.S.A. by first lady Michelle Obama, and he also advises the British government on its programs in the fight against childhood obesity.

In the USA, over 250,000 young people between the ages of 6 and 18 years take part each year in the FIRST® programs, including the FIRST Lego League competition, which seek to promote science and technology in the educational development of youth

Is an avid enthusiast of technology. He was a pioneer in the development of the Internet in France as a popularizer and an entrepreneur, and he is considered a visionary in the Internet world. In 2005 he created Netvibes, a dashboard that allows users to customize and arrange all the things they do on the Web, and in 2008 he developed Jolicloud, an operating system for tablets based on Linux and on the clouding computing concept. For his achievements, MIT's Technology Review chose him as one of the Top 35 Young Innovators Under 35 and the Davos World Economic Forum named him a Young Global Leader in 2008.
