Christer Windeløv-Lidzélius: At KaosPilot we are no so interested in where students are from as in the direction they are heading, where they are going and how they want to contribute

What is KaosPilot? It is a hybrid of a business school and a school of social work. It operates somewhere between leadership and entrepreneurship. The idea is to give students the chance to create their own future. It helps them to find direction in their career and build a platform from which to operate.

In 2012, students went to Bogotá (Colombia) to do work experience. It is a three-year programme and the fourth semester involves an international stay in places such as San Francisco, Cape Town, etc. This time it was Bogotá.


Bogotá is not like cities in Denmark, where the headquarters of KaosPilot are located. Our objective there was to offer projects in different economic sectors. The initial aim was to run six projects, but that was not enough for the students. They wanted to do a hundred. The festival took place in May 2012 and over 300 initiatives were presented, which involved a lot of people. Projects ranged from making cities greener, ensuring equal rights for men and women, and reducing the consumption of drugs, etc. The biggest challenge was to sow the seed for the work to continue once we had left. It was very successful and spread to other cities in Colombia and elsewhere around the world.


The KaosPilot model is based on practice and on experience. It not only involves reading and listening but also, above all, acting. This experimental aspect is both for the students and also for the institution itself, as the world is moving very fast and organisations have to adapt constantly.


Our curriculum is also based on a skills model. We promote teamwork, community building, and the transfer of knowledge among one another. There are many people who know a lot of other people yet there is not enough action and action needs to be fostered. The entrepreneurs in this room are the driving force of the future. It is you who will provide new opportunities and new possibilities.
