The objective of the concert held on November 25 in the Auditorium-Conference Center of Girona was to show how an internationally renowned orchestra conductor like Inma Shara transmits her talent, knowledge and experience to the members of the Youth Orchestra of Girona, within the framework of a pioneering pedagogical project.

This innovative project in the field of promoting culture among young people, which arose from the IMPULSA Forum, is a reflection of the "Impulsa spirit". A spirit whose goal is to convert promising young people with talent into creators of wealth and progress through the accompaniment and encouragement of their elders, as was evident during the last edition of the IMPULSA Forum, organized by the Prince of Girona Foundation last June 22. And it is precisely this spirit that the Foundation wished to transmit to the concert in which Inma Shara, speaker at the 2011 IMPULSA Forum, agreed to conduct a group of young people united by their passion for music who performed major works of Mozart in an auditorium that was completely sold out. 

The Youth Orchestra of Girona, sponsored by the Orchestra of Cadaqués

The Youth Orchestra of Girona is one of the most important projects of the Orchestra of Cadaqués. This idea allows for the discovery of new talent from among the some fifty middle grade students of the music schools in Girona and the upper grade students of the Regional Government’s Isaac Albéniz Conservatory who participate in the project, and provides them with support in their first steps toward the professional world of music. In preparation for last Friday’s concert, these young people participated in partial rehearsals supervised by teachers from the Orchestra of Cadaqués and also rehearsed intensively with the conductor Inma Shara.
