President of edX, the organisation that is changing the foundations of teaching and learning on a global scale by offering free online courses. edX is a joint initiative launched in 2012 by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University, which other universities in the USA, Europe, Australia and Canada have since joined. Almost one million people are currently enrolled on edX online courses. The Boston Globe has named Anant Agarwal, Professor and edX President, as one of the twelve people who are going to change the world.
