IMPULSA is a process launched in 2010 by the Princess of Girona Foundation to discover and propose the educational, technological, economic, political and social conditions required to turn thousands of restless young people into creators of progress through initiatives in all fields: science, technology, business, society, art and culture.
The IMPULSA Forum 2014 will focus on all forms of collaboration which, in very different areas of society, encourage and promote the transformation of today’s society towards more open and collaborative models. With this in mind, in its fifth edition the Forum aims to become an amplifier for successful projects and initiatives based on collaboration.
Half of the world’s population are less than thirty years old. The great majority have had access to a basic education and are connected. For the first time, young people with abilities and with new resources available to them have the potential to transform the processes of creating and distributing value.
The combined effect of these changes on the social and economic model and on the way of doing things affects all areas of our lives, albeit at different speeds. Organisations are exploring ways to integrate external capacities into their processes of innovation and formulating proposals. Meanwhile, a growing number of citizens are turning to lifestyles based on sharing resources, thus generating highly innovative initiatives.
A wealth of possibilities is opening up that will allow us to overcome the limitations of the current system and set more ambitious goals for universal access to knowledge, citizen participation in all areas and the generation of an efficient and sustainable economic and social system.
